Eurothane

GP Board

Eurothane GP Board is a high performance polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation designed for a wide range of applications, including roofs, walls, and floors.

Its closed-cell structure delivers excellent thermal efficiency while preventing water absorption. With zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and a Global Warming Potential (GWP) below 5, this product supports energy efficiency across the entire building.

The board is durable and reliable—it won’t sag over time, resists moisture, and is protected against vermin, ensuring long-term performance throughout the life of the structure.

It is lightweight and simple to cut, handle, and install. Available in multiple thickness options, Eurothane GP Board can be tailored to meet specific project requirements and help achieve or exceed thermal performance standards.

External / Over-Frame Application

PIR insulation is designed to be installed externally over the building framework, creating a continuous and uninterrupted thermal envelope.

In traditional New Zealand construction, insulation is often placed between timber studs or rafters. However, timber itself is not an effective insulator, which means each stud or rafter creates a point of thermal bridging and reduces overall performance.

A more effective approach is to wrap the structure with Eurothane GP boards and seal all joints. This creates a continuous barrier that minimises thermal loss.

Installation methods and insulation thickness will vary depending on the chosen cladding or roofing system, allowing the solution to be adapted to different building designs and requirements.

Between the Framework

PIR insulation is highly versatile and can also be cut and fitted between structural elements such as rafters, studs, and floor joists using traditional installation methods.

When used in this way, PIR delivers improved thermal performance compared to standard insulation materials, thanks to its higher R-value. This results in a more efficient overall insulation outcome for the building.

Between and Over the Framework

PIR insulation can be installed both within the framework and externally over it, creating a dual-layer system that maximises thermal performance.

In this approach, the insulation placed between studs is typically set slightly thinner than the stud depth, allowing space for services such as wiring and plumbing. The additional external layer then forms a continuous thermal barrier, helping to achieve optimal overall insulation efficiency.
